The president of the Argentine Football Association, Claudio Fabián Tapia, visited Bahía Blanca to supervise the delivery of donations to those affected by a recent storm in the area. In this context, Tapia praised the solidarity shown by Argentine football clubs, highlighting the crucial role they played in providing support to the affected community.
"This reflects the work of the members, fans, neighbors, and leaders of Argentine football... we focus on solidarity, nothing more," Tapia expressed regarding the collaboration provided by the clubs. Additionally, the president of the AFA emphasized that, due to the priority of addressing the emergency in Bahía Blanca, tickets for the upcoming matches of the Argentine National Team were not put on sale.
In his statements, Claudio Tapia also alluded to conflicts with certain sports journalists, pointing out that a particular group has dedicated themselves to defaming him. The president of the AFA stated: "There is a group of journalists who have been talking for some time... they always focus on saying things that are not true." Furthermore, he announced that there will soon be an important announcement made by the world champions in football.
Finally, Tapia made it clear that he did not hold conversations with the National Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, regarding the violent acts that occurred during a retirees' march. In this regard, the main focus was on the collaboration of the clubs in assisting the victims and in organizing football events for the benefit of the affected community.
